About Dr. Chang

Dr. Chang started his medical training as a Firefighter/Medic in Texas. His exposure to medical first response piqued his interests, and thus he pursed a career in medicine. He finished his college education at the University of Texas in Austin and graduated in Neurobiology, B.S. and a Human Biology: Genetics and Biotechnology, B.S. degrees at just twenty years old. Dr. Chang then completed medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, where he scored in the top 1% of medical students on the United States Medical Licensing Exam, Step 1. With endless career opportunities and fields to specialize in, he followed his passion into the diverse field of women's health.

He went on to complete medical residency training in the Bronx with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles. At Cedars Sinai, Dr. Chang was inducted into the "Circle of Friends" by his patients, and upon graduating from residency he earned the "Patient Safety Award" from the faculty and the "Oustanding Chief Resident Award" from the nurses, highlighting his talents throughout patient care.

These training opportunities exist on opposite ends of the spectrum which given Dr. Chang unique insight into tackling the most difficult of medical problems. And finally, with his experience as a firefighter/medic, he is prime for dealing with any emergency safely and swiftly.

Dr. Chang joined Plaza Towers Ob/Gyn in Fall of 2012. He also has an appointment at the California Hospital Medical Center where he supervises the medical education and training of Family Medicine residents, OB fellows, and OB/GYN residents from training programs all over Los Angeles, including Cedars Sinai, University of Southern California, UCLA, and Harbor UCLA.

In his spare time he volunteers his time and talents as a Medical Advisor for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and enjoys scuba diving and photography.
